My horoscope for the day:

You’re mixing with some strange types this week but you will enjoy the varied and assorted experiences that come out of this. There are some amazing tales flitting around but your natural common sense will tell you which to believe and which to discard as rubbish. If single, you could meet someone while travelling on public transport and he is about to play a major part in your love-life in the future.

THANK GOD the light rail is done... I have a bus phobia! So if you can't get ahold of me, hop a train!!
MANA FROM HEAVEN!

Taco John's makes Tuesdays SO much more bearable...

To my new husband: I LOVE food! especially Potato Oles!
*STRETCH*

I got A LOT of sleep last night and I feel WONDERFUL!! WOOT!

That's the first time in about a week. I need to go to bed @ 9:45pm more often. Had some great chats going on last night, but had to stick to my guns and get to be in a timely manner. It was perfect.

Special thanks to my new husband for the resizing of my Gram's pic. *SMOOCH*
I had a GREAT card waiting for me on my desk this morning. Here's what it said:

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky... but, rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. *Eskimo Legend*
After the draining week, we rolled right into Gay Pride. I was a bit down in the dumps on Friday, but George talked me into hanging out and heading downtown.

Once we got to Fridays to visit Marla I was in a completely different mood. Something about Marla turns my frowns to smiles and peps up my attitude.

So, Marla proceeded to get George and I a little on the 'buzzing' side and we hoofed it over to Bolt. There was a HUGE line , but we decided to wait. And we waited, and waited, and waited some more... Made it halfway up the line and decided to go intot he Rainbow Rooster instead. I LIKE THAT PLACE!!

The barn theme is a little hokey but the music, drinks and food ROCK!! I want to head there for brunch next weekend.

At the bar they have these little machines where you put in a dollar and play an assortment of games. I am the PHOTO HUNT champion. I LOVE that game. It was made even better when I discovered the bartender was trying to get us drunk. :-)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I slept until about Noon on Saturday. The girls let me sleep without whining for food or having to go out and go potty. All they wanted to do was snuggle and sleep. FINE BY ME!

I wandered down to George's and we headed to the park. Lots of people, but not a lot of pretty. I was hoping for a hot guy to come up to me and compliment me on my hair, sunglasses, tattoo, ass... SOMETHING! Didn't happen... Hell.. I didn't even have a half-cute guy come up and say anything... Oh well! It's the nature of the beast. I'm too damned chicken to approach the ones I find attractive, so therefore no one will approach me. *SIGH*

After a good full day in the park, I went home and took a nap, got all gussied-up in my HOT old-school Starsky and Hutch t-shirt and headed to the fundraise at Poters Bar and Grill. They had a raffle for the MN Pediatric AIDS foundation. Good cause so I threw some money at them.

We went down to the Saloon in our big group and began to torment the gays of MN. We decided to hang on the patio and just BS out there. From across the room, Hottub Scott came over and gave me a HUGE hug. Made me feel like a Million bucks! He's very handsome and I just can't get enough of his smile... *mental note* gotta get a hottub date set-up.

Aaron also showed up and decided that he was drunk, so I needed to be since he's my new, self-declared, drinking buddy. I don't mind so much because he's cute and seems to know most of the cute boys in the bar. I like cute boys.

We stayed until the sidewalk sale and after 6 years those haven't changed one bit! For me, it wasn't all that exciting so I headed home to cuddle up with my loves of my life and sleep.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday started off pretty crappy just because it was rainy... ick! Rain should be banned during Pride weekend. I need to call my senator.

George called a gathering before heading down to the park and I was the first to show. Which surprised the crap out of me because I was 45 minutes late!

We munched on chips, pizza, and m&ms... couldn't ask for a better breakfast! Also watched the Making for the French Rugby calendar and let me tell you something: I NEED to move to France an play rugby or at least pretend so I can shower with some of those guys... MMM MMM GOOD!

Down to the park we go, umbrellas drawn, with absolutely NO intention of going down to the Parade. I'm not sure if it's the 36 churches, the 60 different political officials, or the scary men in leather that have turned me off to the parade... Just not in the mood to stand there for 3 hours.

It was pretty cold in the morning (so cold Mickee was actually turning blue) so we walked the park a few times then headed back up to George's for some yummy BBQ sandwiches and some REALLY bad movies on the Sci-Fi channel. If you ever get the chance to watch 'Spiders,' DON'T!!

It's REALLY bad...

We headed back down to the park and then the sun came out. Turned out to be a beautiful day. WE wandered through a few more times and then it was time to do home. The pups needed to be fed. They were VERY lovey and just wanted to snuggle. I gave in. What can I say? I'm a cuddle-junkie.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm incredibly fricken tired, but I had a good weekend after a difficult week. Just want to say 'Thanks' to those who helped me get my mind off things this weekend. Lots of Love!
Thank you for all your good thoughts and prayers. I think I needed every last one of them. *SMOOOOOOOCHES*
Sorry for the lapse in posting.

I just wanted to let you all know I've added a picture of my Gram down at the bottom of the page. One extraordinary woman who will be missed GREATLY.

YIKES! I guess I need to resize that picture... I'm not too savvy with that stuff, but I'll give it a go tonight and tame it down a bit.

Bad News:

Yesterday my Grandmother, Emma, passed away.

It wasn't quite hit me yet, but once I see my family it'll all come rushing to the forefront. I'm sad and depressed a bit, but still plugging away.

She wrote down before got really sick that she wants her grandsons to carry her casket. I'm not too thrilled about it, but since she wanted it, she's going to get it.

This is the grandmother whom I have live next to my entire life until college. After college, whenever I'd come visit I'd get a *gasp* followed by a blue streak of what's happened to her since the last time I was over to visit. The past time I went to visit her all she could get out was my name and then started crying.

My mom said 'She hasn't done that for ANYBODY else.'

Ok... made myself get teary... need to stop.

HAPPY PRIDE!!

Pride week started yesterday and runs through next Sunday. Activities every night, lots of hot guys crawling out of the woodwork, block party, and WAY too many political people and churches in the parade. It's a mix of good things and bad things.

Anyway... M-boy and I hung out on Friday night. It was the 'official' date #2. He came over, met the girls, and the we walked down to the Chinese place on 46th and Nicollet. They make a GREAT Generals chicken (which he had) and I tried chicken and shrimp hunan style. It was ok... Nothing compared to my Crispy Chicken with Walnuts... YUMMY!

After dinner and some good conversation we headed back to my place and watched The Dark Crystal. I LOVE that movie. I got to cuddle with him and I almost fell asleep because I was UBER-comfortable. Yuna and Akima were having issues with me giving someone else some attention, so they attacked us during the movie and made it nearly impossible for either of us to watch, but we had fun.

I kicked him out of the house by 10pm because I had to go to work on Saturday. Ick...

Saturday night I passed out on my bed for a few hours and wok up an hour late for Chris' going away party. I got all gussied up and headed down to the 'hood' for a pitcher of beer.

As always, at Porters there is karoke on Saturday night. Some are good, some are ok... Some suck, I mean, REALLY suck. Like tone-deaf Nick.

So, after Mickee and George sang a couple of numbers we broke away from the crowd to go to the Gay 90's. I haven't been there in a LONG time and apparently they will hire dancers with no abilities what-so-ever... ick...

M-boy and his peeps showed up and we all danced into the wee hours of the night. It was a good night!

Sunday was also a good day. Long and tiring, but good. I was out at the softball fields from 10AM until 4:30PM. Most of that time was passing out fliers for our fundraiser, which now looks like a waste of time. The only other softball people that came were my friends and a few of theirs.

I think we need a new sponsor bar, but it's so tough finding a 'family' bar that doesn't already have a softball team.

We made lots of money... Drank lots of beer... It was a good time.

Somehow I got conned into going to the Fancy Ranch and shaking my rump. Trixie seems to think that I was loaded last night. Yeah... I wasn't. I was just having a good time, dancing with M-boy, and staying up way too late once again...

YEAH!! The Bad Puppies won another game this weekend!! WOOT WOOT!

I LIKE this:

A well-known speaker started off his seminar

by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.

It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.

You are special- Don't EVER forget it."

If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it can bring.

Count your blessings, not your problems. And remember: amateurs built the ark ... professionals built the Titanic.
OK... Just got off the phone with a friend who likes to call and chat while I'm at work. It's al lot of fun and we usually have a good time chatting.

Lately, it seems all of our chats turn against his partner whom he's been with for 6 years. For instance, he wanted to get a tattoo done and his partner had asked if my friend thought it might be a bit too much. My friend said he wanted it, it wouldn't fit into the master plan for his left arm tattoo design, but he wanted it so he put it on his right arm. The attitude that came across was 'I'll do what I want, so fuck you.'

Usually there is nothing wrong with this attitude, but it seemed a rather BIG reaction to a partner's opinion/concern. Aren't partners there to sometimes keep you sane, and play devil's advocate? It seems like my friend took it more as an attack than anything. I just don't understand.

I also have the 'I'll do what I want' attitude, but I also appreciate my friends' advice (even if it's contrary to what I believe).

I seem to be surrounded by 'victims' this softball season. It's wearing me down REAL quick.

I think I need a nap...

Zzzzzzzz...

Some FUN Games!!

Kick-ass Mini-golf!

Defend Your Castle!

Curveball! I REALLY like this one!

And this is just TOO funny:

STFU
Drop Dead Gorgeous is a HILARIOUS movie! Me and the pups watched it last night and I had a BLAST!

I also hung out online and chatted with a few people from around my area, but I just can't seem to find anyone interesting to chat with. I know our Gay community is pretty small compared to some, but for the size of MPLS there should be at least one interesting person out of the 300 that were online last night.

*sigh*

I DO have another date with M-boy on Friday. I caleld him last night and we chatted for a while, but I REALLY want to take it slow and get to know him. He's made a couple comments about his dog 'getting siblings' if he doesn't mess this up. Hmmmmm...

I guess he's been talking me up since I first got to hang out with him after Adam and I split. A bunch of his friends are going out this weekend and want to meet me. I'm not too sure I like that idea, but I don't have to decide until that day.

I DO have a cute pic of me and Jasmine (M-boy's dog). I added at the bottom of the page.

I'm stunned!

What Flavour Are You? I taste like Menthol.I taste like Menthol.

I am refreshingly different; some people don't appreciate that. My sharp honesty gets up some people's noses, while others really enjoy it. I am something of an acquired taste.

COME TO OUR FUNDRAISER!!

Just in case that doesn't work:

Just paste that into your browser with out the space between the / and v217...
WTF?!?

I could probably write for days on the shit from this past weekend... Especially yesterday... Wow!

Good News first:

The BAD PUPPIES are now 4-8. WOO HOO! Yes, that's right: 2 wins this Sunday!! WOOT WOOT!
An ATM that doesn't give a receipt?? Fricken red-necks...
...They had had a bit too muchto drink. I had NOTHINGto do with it.*evil grin*

Friday: the date with M-boy was kinda thrown together, but I had a GREAT time. He's very sweet, a little sassy and just LOVES to talk. We went to Applebees with the intention of getting our food quickly and getting on to a movie. Yeah... Applebees in Brooklyn Park is NOT the place to go for speediness. Our server was what I'd call 'anti-brilliant.' She sucked the intelligence out of the room. It was not good. Good thing I had M-boy to entertain me. :-) We made it through our meals but were too late for a movie, so we headed to Robbinsdale to play a little pool at a RED_NECK bar called the Eagle's Nest. These were the best cared for, vending machine style pool tables I had seen in a long time. No table roll, none. It was fun. I was an idiot and didn't get cash before going out, so I had to make a break in the date to run and do so. M-boy was giving me shit because I wouldn't get cash at the ATM @ Eagle's Nest because the little machine said it may not give me a receipt... WHAT?!?
Anyway... The night was good, but I stayed up WAY too late...

Saturday was a VERY non-productive day. I had to throw together all of the fundraiser stuff and deliver it to Porters... So, of course, I stayed and had a couple of drinks Amazing O and Carlos came out too and we hung out. Kurt also came down and then we all went to Bolt. Carlos and I danced while Kurt and Amazing O tried to maintain their balance by leaning against the wall. They had had a bit too much to drink. I had NOTHING to do with it. *evil grin* I wanted to dance all night, but I had driven Kurt down there and he needed to get home because he played softball EARLY in the morning.

On to Sunday:

First of all... I got to sleep in. WOOT!

Then I got up and pay with the girls for a while... Then Ron called and he was already headed to the fields. So I showered and got ready for softball, lets the pups out one more time, and then headed tot he fields... Ron and I wandered around the fields for a while, just chatting and visiting with other players until I needed some food.

Ron and I chatted it up at Arby's and now I know WAY too much about him and he can prolly say the same thing about me!! Honestly, Ron is turning out to be a GREAT friend even tho we don't see eye-to-eye one some things.
An ATM that doesn't give a receipt?? Fricken red-necks...
...chatted it up at Arby's and now I know WAY too much about him and he can prolly say the samething about me...

On with the show:

Ron and I were hanging out watching the Saints play and I was having a good time just watching some competitive play, when I look off to my right and there is Adam... With his roomie Amy, whom I like very much. I instantly felt uncomfortable and KNEW something is wrong...

I left, went to the bathrooms and Adam called me... 'Just saw you and thought I'd say 'hi.'' I was like 'Ummm... Thanks...' and hung up the phone... Awkward... Am I being a freak, or would you all be wierded out too?

FLASHBACK:

Adam and I broke up in September of last year. I dated a couple of people all of which I am now friends with. Adam and I started seeing each other in February again, but Adam started doing some shit (again) and I asked him if he was my boyfriend or my friend. And I quote: "No, I'm not your boyfriend and haven't really been for a long time... I'm just some guy you hung out with and had sex with on occasion. Boyfriend may be too strong of word to use."

So... What this means to me is: Hey, even though we were together, I really didn't want to give it a go.

Grrrrr... I guess I still have issues with this...

Back to Sunday:

So... I'm on the way to my Vue to get my softball stuff and I pass the Raptors... Most say 'hi' and Tattoo Mike stops to say hello. Or at least that's what I thought he was going to say... 'Adam is coming to watch the game.' WHAT?!?

HUGE RED FLAG!

Tattoo Mike is someone I met after the first break-up with Adam. I really like him and I want him to be a good friend in my life... So, have you put two and two together yet?

Adam is seeing Mike.
An ATM that doesn't give a receipt?? Fricken red-necks...
...during our game with the Raptors I busted my ass to do the best I could just to beat them on principle...

So... I was/am very worked up about this. I just simply wouldn't sleep with an friend's former partner... Anyway... during our game with the Raptors I busted my ass to do the best I could just to beat them on principle. I was upset. I popped out on one of my at bats and Mike came up to me and said, 'We need to talk.' I was like: ummm... Not right now, we don't...

Last night I was up late and he messaged me on a messenger service for 'my' people. He asked if he could call... I told him I would feel uncomfortable talking about stuff with him, but I agreed to the call. We talked about him and Adam, the fact that Mike and I dated about as long as they have been and he'd put out already... Not sure I wanted to know that, but it just reinforced the thought that Adam bases his self-worth off of his sexual activity.

Mike also mentioned that Adam has been a bit aggressive about a relationship which also reinforces that fact that Adam need to be with someone to qualify his existence or his co-dependence.

So, what Mike wanted to know, was if he continues to see Adam will that effect our friendship? I asked him back: would you feel awkward if you were in my shoes? He said Yes.

I told him he needs to decide what is good for him. It's not my place to dictate who he hangs out with. I told him I'd like to hang out, but prolly would feel weird if Adam and tagging along or waiting in the wings.

*sigh*

Gay boys fucking suck... And not in the good way...

I think I'm going to play things cool with all the gay peeps in my life and just live life. I obviously have some issues/bitterness to get over.

Wish me luck...

Friday, June 11, 2004

So, I called M-boy on Wednesday on my way home from work and suggested a 'date' for Friday (today). I was VERY nervous on the phone and wanted to make sure I said the right things. I feel like SUCH an idiot being back in this dating thing... There are a few softball boys who have expressed an interest, but I'm not to that point yet. It's difficult to explain to people that I'm just looking for friendship, but I've had an interest in M-boy for a while now. We'll see how it goes...

I was hoping for sun today, but I might as well have hoped to win the $30 Million Powerball... Better odds!

I wanted to grab a quick dinner then head out for a walk around the lakes, but it looks like Mother Nature has put the kabash on that. Gotta find something to do... any suggestions?

What kind of Poetry am I?

I am free verse,
and know the rules,
and use them -
when they suit me,
which admittedly
tends not to be the case.
Authority,
tradition, laws;
very much not
my sort
of thing,
I fear.
Perhaps, on occasion,
I go too far in the opposite direction,
and shun the accepted merely because it's accepted,
accepting its opposite merely because it isn't;
but since it's clearly
better that than
being normal;
well,
why
not?

I just have a strong feeling in my gut that I will never see the $80 the NR owes me for electricity. I'm not completely convinced the hassle of small-claims court would be worth it. He said this morning he was going to send me a business check from Washington. We'll see...
...I think my type of guy has to be cute/handsome. That's about the only requirement. OH! He's gotta have good shoes....

I think he's been promoted to President of Fucktard Island.

So, yesterday I asked a friend (a.k.a. Information Whore) who has A LOT of information to forward a couple e-mails to guys I wanted to get in contact with. First one is Peter. He's a coach for one of the rival teams in our league. He's an INCREDIBLY funny guy but a bit of a lightweight when it comes to drinking. *EVIL GRIN* We hung out on Sunday after the beer bust at the Bolt/Eagle was done. Apparently, he appreciates my wit and he seems like an all-around, good guy. He asked me if I'd join one of the teams on their trip to Milwaukee for the Labor Day Tournament. I think I'm going to go. I need a trip out of town.

Second boy on the list is Micah (M-boy). I met him back when we were all in the bowling league together. He was dating this ogre of a man (who I went on a date with, but was repulsed by his 'me, I, myself' attitude) and I was with Adam, so we really didn't get a chance to get to know each other. One night, I went out to the 'Fancy Ranch' (a.k.a. the Saloon) and I got a chance to chat with him and hang out. I enjoyed myself. Now he isn't seeing anyone and I am single as well... hmmmmm... He wrote me back this morning and said that he thought I never wanted to talk to him again. Silly rabbit!

Side note: Said Information Whore thinks that M-boy is not my type... Since when have I had a type?? I think my type of guy has to be cute/handsome. That's about the only requirement. OH! He's gotta have good shoes. I can tell y'all about that some other time.

Tuesday, June 08, 2004

Well... Apparently I'm a SHITTY roommate!!

WOO HOO!!

NR is hitting the road! I'm SO thankful!! He told me yesterday that he gave notice and is going to be out by the 15th. I'm not sure if it's June 15th or July 15th. Either way, I'm having a HUGE party after he's gone.

*BIG GRIN*

I'm still hoping I an get electricity $$$ from him. I left him a note today (this would be the 4th time asking for the money), so we'll see how he reacts to that.

On a sadder note, Patty Bad-Shoulder is moving out too... :-( But Mr. Fancy-man had to go and buy a cool-ass condo in a great part of town. Damn him! Seriously, Congrats Pat!! It's very cool you've got a place of your own!

So, Minneapolis readers... If you know of anyone who needs a place to live and who's dependable, LOW-MAINTENANCE and can live with 2 dogs in the house, let me know.

Grandma isn't doing well... She's complaining about always begin 'full' so she's not eating a whole lot. When I went to visit her I think it had made her day. I almost got strangled from her hug. :-)

She's a very strong and independent woman, but you can tell she's scared. I only got to visit with her for about 20 minutes, because she was/is so tired.

I was glad she remembered who I am and I hope she never forgets that. It'll be devastating. Now we're just taking it one day at a time. I hope to get up there a couple more times this week.

Update on Gramma:

They confirmed their suspicions... She has brain cancer and they have absolutely NO idea how her body will react to it. So, we just get to wait...
Well... I got some not-so-good news this morning. My Grandmother has cancer and it appears to have spread. Colon, Liver and possibly some spots of brain cancer.

My Mom went to the hospital this morning to meet with my Gramma and the specialist. My Gramma isn't allowed to be alone now, so she's going to have to be placed into the nursing home.

The 'good' thing is if she's at the hospital: My sister works there. If she's at the nursing home: My Dad works there. So, at least she's got contact with the people who love her.

That said, I'm feeling pretty down today. I've lived next to my Gramma since I can remember and she's VERY important to me. *SIGH*

We'll find out today how serious things are and they're going to try and tell us how much time we have left. I'm not too sure I like that thought...

Well, I've been looking into schools for expanding my knowledge and trying to get more savvy within my chosen field: Information Technology. Turns out the one school I'd REALLY like to go to is down in Eden Prairie... ICK!

So, if any of you readers out there know of a school that offers online programs, or maybe one here in MPLS that someone you know has gone to, let me know! I want to explore this and see if I can get ahead in life!!
Here is a fun link. Click on the red button.
Firstly, WOO HOO!! It's a short week!!!

Secondly, If you want some seriously GOOD dance music, this station rocks. Click the 'On Air' button... In the morning they do the news thing, but it's still a good station.

Thirdly, I HAD A BLAST THIS WEEKEND!!

Thursday night was incredibly lame. I remember going out on those nights and feeling desired and even pursued. Now, it's all these pretentious twinks and their equally pretentious fag-hags out and about. I guess that teaches me NOT to go out on 'Chicken Night.'

I took Friday off and relaxed with the puppies. I think they only tried to kick my ass twice that day. They've learned that if I'm playing my game, all they need to do is team up and Akima will try to keep my one arm down while Yuna tries to lay across my lap and drive my mouse hand. This usually leads to a session of wrestling that rivals WWF Smack Down. I rarely win...

Saturday was draining. I REALLY didn't care for the management team at Target that day and therefore I had to work WAY too hard to cover for them. Penny and I kinda screwed them over tho... We took our lunch at the same time. :-) @ of the strongest people off the floor? OOPS! -- Once work was over, I was so exhausted that the pups kinda got neglected a bit. However, I think Yuna likes cuddling with me when I sleep vs. Just getting a beat-down. Later that night George and I went out again, but I stopped at Friday's to visit Marla (who, by the way, makes the most FABULOUS margaritas EVER!) for a warm up to the drinking festivities. Anyway, as we partied, a guy I had met on the previous break-up came up to me and George and hung out for a little bit. Then before going back to his friends, he said, 'You're coming home with me, right?' WOOT WOOT!! He disappeared with his friends for a while then found me and pulled me onto the dance floor.

Sorry, Mom! I was so pooped after work, I didn't feel like packing up the girls and hauling them up north. Next time. We still need to hit P.F. Changs too!

Sunday, was spent sleeping... Well... At least until 2pm... Then I went over to Aaron's to watch 'Best in Show.' That is one freeking HILARIOUS movie!! I love it! After that we grabbed dinner, went and played with the pups, and then I went over to George's for the pre-bar. I had a GREAT time hanging with Mickee, George, Brad, the Amazing O, and Roger. I ran into Eunice and a bunch of his friends and had a good time. Richard and Joe were out and they informed me that I needed a new pic for my gay.com profile. Apparently, they feel that the pic of my tattoo makes me look like some big, bad leather-daddy. Yeah... TOTALLY not me...

So, on Monday, I updated my profile. Now other people are telling me to change the pic, back... I just say: Spend the fricken $15 and get a year's membership... Then you can see them all. SHEESH! Monday also consisted of two ass-kickings by the pups. Apparently they had been putting up with my crap for far too long and it was time for me to learn my place. :-)

Yuna gets rough and Akima gets loud... The Dynamic Duo. That's them.

OK.. That's all I have for now...
