Final Fantasy XI
DEAR SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!
I FINALLY got to Level 30 in this DAMN game. I thought it was pertnear impossible to ever make it there, but meet people all the time who have made it.
At level 30, you then have the opportunity to get an 'Advanced Job.' These include: Summoner, Samurai, Beastmaster, Dark Knight, Ninja, and Bard. When I SWORE allegiance to the 'StarDustDreamers,' I promised I would become a Bard and then our LinkShell (LS) would have at least one.
Think of the LS as a group of people to get into their character and try to make a true role-playing experience out of the game. Or you could just think of it as a clique, gang, Mafia, or just a good group of friends.
So... As LAME as I am, tonight is reserved for 4 things:

- Walking the pups
- Becoming a Bard (you have to do this long-ass quest)
- Eating 50% off Godiva Truffles
- Going to bed early (provided the aforementioned activities are completed)
Besides, I have to work tomorrow at Targay so going to bed at decent hour would be good. Don't need to bite anyone's head off tomorrow...

Last night:
I had a GREAT night last night (minus one event, but that'll come later). I took off of work a couple of hours early and headed home to clean-up the house, wear the dogs out a bit, and fold the 3 baskets of laundry I've been avoiding.
Mikey called me about 3:15pm and said he was standing outside my bullding and wanted to say 'Hi.' this was VERY sweet, but I had already left and was almost all the way to my car (about 1 mile away from work). He said he had some things to get done so I told him to just give me a call when he's on his way over and I'd start dinner.
He called around 7pm and said he was on his way, so I started to whip up the pasta and meat sauce. I set-up an end-table in the living room and set the table (since I don't have a dining table) and also lit a little candle.
He brought over a bottle of wine which we couldn't drink because, when one of the two roomies moved out they must have claimed it and taken it with them...
Anyway, food was good, he complimented me and gave me a smooch. *SWOON*
I noticed it was AWFULLY quiet outside so I decided to check on the girls. I noticed the gate was open and both had vanished. PANIC ATTACK! I ran the span of 4, full city blocks in about 3 minutes... Checked out the park down the street... Nothing.
I was SO freaked out and in my own demented way I thought 'At least it'll be easier to find a new place to live...' Bad dad! BAD DAD!
So... I'm running down the street and working on the next block, trying to find the pups... I'm yelling and whistling... And I turn the corner an they they are... INSTANTLY they drop to the ground begging for mercy because they KNOW the shit has hit the fan!!
Turns out 4 scrawny, black kids were messing around in the street and saw the pups. They opened the gate to play with them (because in my neighborhood, you apparently don't ask permission first). The got scared of them and started running. A woman that lives on the end of one of the alleys stopped the kids and got some treats for the girls... Kept them entertained and SAFE.
So... That moment of DRAMA aside, Mikey and I stayed in (rather than walking the dogs because they just got a good run in), talked about stuff that interests us, and then we put in Rules of Attraction.
Smooched a bit... Ok, A LOT and then moved his motorcycle into the garage. He stayed overnight and it felt SO good to snuggle with him. There was no sex involved, but it was nice just to sleep with, cuddle and make out with a sexy man (and know that it's NOT a one-nighter).
He couldn't believe that I had to get up at 5:30am to get my day started, but enjoyed snuggling with the pups while I ran down an got ready for work.
He's a sweet man. I'd really like to spend more time with him. We have another date for Saturday night, but I don't know if I can wait that long. Mikey is one of the BEST kissers I have encountered. :-) I like that...

Hypothetically speaking, of course...
If you were chatting with someone you'd like to get to know better and they had said that they thought you were handsome (and their friends agreed), would you think it stupid to ask them out? Or would you just lay low and maybe hang out with the person before requesting an official 'date'?
You must make the assumption that he was being honest and not just stroking your ego.
Feedback please!! BRING IT!
(give me some advice, don't just call me a chicken-shit!!)

Life changes in the works... Hopefully...
Please keep your fingers crossed.
I applied for one of 5 positions being created at a company here downtown. I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE I can get an interview. It's been SO long that I'm CERTAIN I'm more than a little 'rusty.'
I had two different people approve and compliment me on my resume and cover letter, so that was reassuring.
It'd be a challenging position, a pay raise, and a gay-friendly company. *crosses fingers*

Not sure what I'm thinking, but I decided to have another 'date' with CM (Cute Mikey). I told myself I'm not ready for anything, but DAMN he's cute, funny, INTELLIGENT (it's intimidating), laid back, he likes my pups, he likes me (go figure), and Peanut Butter Fudge Chunk ice cream is one of his weaknesses... hmmm...
I'm having him over for some simple cooking and then we're going to let the pups drag us around the lake. I'll let you know how it goes!
(I have 3 pints for P.B.F.C. ice cream on hand for emergency use!!)

Friday melt-down...
So, last Friday I was feeling the stress. Money on the short side, wasn't sure if I was going to have to work on Saturday and miss softball, trying to figure out if I want to 'date' or not, and in about one month I'm gonna be homeless.
I was freaking and when I freak: I eat...
Burger and fries for lunch, about 4 of the Toll-House caramel cookie bars, a taco and quesadilla with a soda, and then I had dinner too (can't remember what it was)... *sigh*
Fortunately, after that binge I only gained 3 pounds... 3 more fucking pounds away from my goal, but I guess I need to allow myself to get off track once and a while.
I did however discover the joy the rowing machine at the gym today. I LOVE it! You do cardio using the upper body and the little fan-thingy blows in your face to cool you off!! Granted, I only made it for about 7 minutes before I thought I was going to die, but at least I now have a # to beat!
Cardio + Smitty = No Bueno

Nice Quote
The CEO of the company sent this out:
"The battle of life is, in most cases, fought uphill; and to win it without a struggle we're perhaps to win it without honor. If there were no difficulties there would be no success; if there were nothing to struggle for, there would be nothing to be achieved."
-- Samuel Smiles
Softball is Over
Well... the Bad Puppies put up a fight, but it wasn't enough to beat the Raptors or the Sterlings.
We had a GREAT season for a start-up team! 8-12 for the season and two of those losses were because we chose to walk in that AIDS walk. WOOT! Way to go PUPS!
Already everyone's wheels are turning for next year and many people have made suggestions on how the team should be run, who should/shouldn't play, and sponsor talk.
We had our softball banquet last night. It was nice. They had it at the Nicollet Island Pavillion and the food they served up wasn't all that bad! I rememeber having it at the Millenium hotel and the food was AWFUL and they always ran out!
Got a chance to meet Aaron this weekend. He's a cutie AND can play some ball. Their team did very well and took 2nd in their division. Check out the fundraiser they'll be having!
I'm sad it's over because I won't see some of the softball boys until next year, but I'm also glad it's done because I get my Sundays back again. Being the coach/manager this year was a blast, but next year (provided I dont get impeached) I'll have to delegate some of the responsibilities out to some of the players.
KNOW THIS: The Bad Puppies WILL return for another season!!
